Unlocking Success: Insights from the Mr. Fence Academy Retreat 2024

Mr. Fence Academy recently concluded its fourth annual retreat on April 22, 2024. Over the course of four nights and three full days, fence geeks spanning from novices with just a month’s experience to veterans with over three decades in the industry came together in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains, all with one common goal – to improve.

The yearly retreat is open to all fence professionals who want to increase profits, enhance their business, grow personally and decrease stress. Fence company owners, key team members and family members that are involved in the business come together in an intimate environment, conducive to sharing and learning, with each day packed full of intense sessions on building a better business and growing personally. With about 13 sessions each day, plus a morning group activity before breakfast, the retreat covers topics including building a budget, the importance of a sales pipeline, jobsite efficiencies, balancing family and business, and finding the “why” and “what” you are trying to achieve.

Those attending create bonds that will last a lifetime; a new family they each can turn to for help, advice, and support – their tribe. “So grateful for the amazing friends I was able to make. I feel like I have a huge family now and the biggest support system I’ve ever had,” states one of the retreat attendees. Another attendee wrote, “Mr. Fence Academy Retreat did not disappoint! From start to finish, it was relentless. Relentless with data and info that every level of business can benefit from. Relentless with mental and spiritual energy. Relentless with people willing to help, guide, connect, and even just listen. And lastly, relentless with some of the best food I’ve ever had! I had an expectation of what it would be like, but it blew that out of the water. The takeaway from this retreat is immeasurable, and I’ll be unpacking it for days.”

After each day filled with powerful non-stop learning, evenings are spent dining together and fellowshipping until late into the evening, providing opportunities for further networking, idea exchange, and mentorship.

The retreat is held in a private lodge-like setting with everything on-site by design to create a comfortable family-type atmosphere and promote camaraderie. Fabulous one-of-a-kind freshly prepared meals are served morning, noon, and night. Lodge amenities offer attendees a chance to get to know one another while sitting around a fire, playing outdoor games, soaking in a hot tub, taking a swim, watching a movie, or simply sitting together in one of the lounge areas sharing stories until late into the night.
